Next stage of Grandstand Way construction to commence

Grandstand Way road reserve is located to the east of Weeip Park, linking Junction Parade and Morrison Road, plus providing a future link to Sayer Street once the Australia Post and Honda Shop buildings are demolished.

Temporary fencing has now been erected around the Grandstand Way construction site and laydown area.

This follows from work to relocate the sewer mains and install water mains earlier in 2025.

Once the soil is suitably dry the City’s Construction and Maintenance team will start the boxing out and installation of the storm water drainage system under the road, before the road construction with asphalt is laid – the aim is before Christmas 2025.

The connection to Morrison Rd is still dependent upon Western Power and other service authorities lowering their infrastructure, which is anticipated to happen in 2026. Once done Grandstand Way will be opened and landscaping of the verges will commence.
