Council agrees to sell lot 9509

Council at its meeting of 11 February 2026 resolved to sell lot 9509 Junction Parade to MPG Corporation, a large and long term developer with many projects in the Midland area. The developer now has 90 days to undertake their due diligence.

MPG Corporation advised “The proposed development would consist of a mixture of Commercial/ Retail and Residential, the development building height would around 5-6 stories plus basement.

Pending the amount of car bays that can be attained in the basement would determine the number of apartments being built. Would envisage approx.. 50- 60 apartments with a mixture of 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom and 2 bedroom, 2-bathroom apartments across 4-5 floors above the commercial floor.

The ground floor would be a Commercial / Retail across Junction Parade and Trackside Entrance, the remaining space at the back of the tenancies would provide for the commercial tenancies and visitor car park.”

Public comment closes on Wednesday 5 March 2026, submissions are to be in writing and addressed to the Chief executive Officer, City of Swan, PO Box 196, Midland, 6936.
